Visit of Representatives of the Embassy of Japan and JICA to the National Academy of Internal Affairs
22-08-2025An introductory meeting was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Police Activity of the National Academy of Internal Affairs with representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine and the leadership of the Office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The purpose of the event was to familiarize international colleagues with the activities of the educational institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the specifics of law enforcement training under martial law, and the results of adapting the educational process to current challenges.
The guests had the opportunity to observe practical training facilities (a checkpoint, a fortified stronghold, a mass burial site, a police department), attend first-year cadets’ classes in tactics and tactical medicine, as well as participate in sessions of psycho-emotional relief and observe the work of psychologists with youth.
Particular attention was paid to the Academy’s classroom facilities – computer labs, a language laboratory, a first aid training classroom, and cadet living conditions.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the specific activities of the educational institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police of Ukraine under wartime conditions, shared impressions, and outlined prospective areas for further cooperation. The Japanese representatives expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the National Academy of Internal Affairs for facilitating the visit, showing their willingness to continue supporting Ukraine.
The parties agreed to continue the dialogue to outline concrete steps for cooperation. The delegation’s program at the Academy was fully implemented.
