Dedicated to the memory of the Heroes of the Battle of Kruty
01-02-2021NAIA cadets created a video dedicated to students and cadets who died in the unequal battle near Kruty in 1918.
Every year on January 29, Ukraine honors the memory of the Heroes of the Battle of Kruty.
The Battle of Kruty is one of the most tragic and at the same time legendary pages in the history of the Ukrainian people. The battle took place on January 29, 1918, 130 kilometers from Kyiv at the Kruty railway station (now the Chernihiv region). The fierce confrontation lasted about six hours.
At that time, about five hundred cadets and students restrained the attack on Kyiv by almost five thousand of Bolshevik army. A platoon of students (27 young men) was taken prisoner by the Bolsheviks after the battle and executed. The youngest victims were only 16 years old.
We honor the feat of young heroes who fought for independence at the cost of their own lives!
