NAIA Cooperates with EUAM: Focus on Training Specialists to Investigate War Crimes
13-05-2025A working meeting with representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) in Ukraine was held at the National Academy of Internal Affairs (NAIA). The purpose of the visit was to familiarize foreign experts with the educational environment and material-technical base of the Academy, as well as to discuss key areas of cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties agreed on the details of organizing a basic training course for final-year students who plan to join the security sector and work in the field of war crimes investigations after graduation. This training will become a crucial element of the professional preparation for future law enforcement officers in the context of ongoing armed conflict.
A roundtable discussion involving academy specialists and EUAM representatives has also been planned. The event will focus on discussing the outcomes of the trainings and developing the concept for an expanded course for trainers, which will help institutionalize a sustainable approach to teaching the topic of war crimes.
Such initiatives serve as examples of effective international cooperation and shared responsibility in the development of highly qualified professionals capable of upholding the rule of law and justice in the post-war period.
