An interagency roundtable on the implementation of the Intelligence-Led Policing (ILP) concept was held at the National Academy of Internal Affairs
17-04-2025An interagency roundtable dedicated to discussing the prospects for implementing the concept of Intelligence-Led Policing (ILP) in Ukraine was held at the National Academy of Internal Affairs. The event was organized by the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine.
The professional discussion brought together representatives from the EUAM, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police of Ukraine, the Prosecutor's Office, the State Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Economic Security, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, as well as academics and experts. They are all united by a common goal – to strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to act proactively, based on high-quality data analysis and crime forecasting.
The ILP concept, which has already proven effective in European Union countries, prioritizes analytics in decision-making processes within the security sector. It represents a shift from reaction to prevention. Participants of the roundtable noted that in the context of martial law, hybrid threats, and transnational crime, an analytical approach can significantly enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement operations.
«The National Academy of Internal Affairs is not only an educational institution but also an analytical platform for shaping a new model of policing, operating in particular through the Center for Criminal Analysis of the Academy. We are already actively integrating ILP into the educational process, preparing future officers to work in a modern security environment,» said Police Colonel Oleh Tarasenko, Vice-Rector of the National Academy of Internal Affairs.
